Nigerian artistes nominated for this year’s edition of the MTV EMA Awards, Psquare and Wizkid, will hope to outdo other nominees and each other in the best African Act category on November 22. Other Africans nominated alongside the Nigerian pop stars are LCNVL (South Africa), Mafikizolo (South Africa) and Fuse ODG (Ghana).Three-time EMA winner, Katy Perry, will perform her new single “Unconditionally” live at the event, with anchorman, Ron Burgundy, as a special guest, reporting from various city landmarks throughout the show.
“I’m so excited to return to the EMA stage! I have tailor-made a performance of a brand new song from PRISM to share with fans from around the world on November 10,” Katy Perry said in a press statement.
Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the “2013 MTV EMA” nominations with five nods each, while Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke are each up for four awards. Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Green Day, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Daft Punk, Rudimental, Icona Pop and One Direction are each nominated for three awards. Artists with two EMA nods include Rihanna, Katy Perry, Eminem, Jay Z, Bastille, Imagine Dragons, The Killers, Paramore, Rita Ora, Drake, Afrojack, Avicii, Calvin Harris and Iggy Azalea
MTV will announce additional EMA performers and presenters at a later date.

ALLEGED FRAUD:OYO EX COMMISSIONER GRANTED BAIL

A former Oyo State Commissioner, Kazeem Adedeji accused of defrauding the state of N77 million was on Friday granted bail in the sum of N10 million by a Federal High Court, Lagos.
Adedeji, along with a former Director in the state’s ministry of Trade and Investment, Yinka Fatoki as well as an employee of the Bank of Industry, Kolawole Adewole, were arraigned on October 3 on six-count charge bordering on conspiracy and fraud.
Although the trio pleaded not guilty to the alleged offence, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke had remanded them in prison pending ruling on application for their bail filed by their counsel, Olabode Iranloye.
During the arraignment, the prosecutor, Effiong Asuquo, told the court that the accused committed the offences between July 2012 and June 2013 when Adedeji was commissioner.

POLICE ARRESTS AN ENUGU BAESED CULTIST

Mba Chukwuemeka, a suspected cult kingpin of the Vikings confraternity, has been arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS), the Enugu State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amarizu, said in a statement on Wednesday.
Amarizu said Chukwuemeka was arrested by the operatives on Tuesday, October 8.
The command said the suspect was arrested with a local pistol and three live cartridges at Okpuje, along Nsukka-Odol-Kogi Road.

“If I say I don’t miss Don Jazzy, I am

the family, the movement, and the vibe of being in the studio with him. I
miss the jokes and the arguments, but I have since keyed into the
notion that nothing can stop a moving train.
“For now, I am concerned about achieving
new things and breaking new grounds. By the time I enter Hollywood, I
believe that I’ll become as successful as I have been as a singer. The
movie titled ‘I am Banga Lee’, starring Genevieve, to be released in
2014, won’t be a bad idea,”

A 9yr old becomes Nigeria’s youngest Microsoft certified professional
A nine-year-old pupil of Role Model School, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos, Jomiloju Tunde-Oladipo, has emerged the youngest Nigerian Microsoft certified professional.
He came tops among 21 pupils who sat for the professional examination in Lagos.
He is now a Microsoft office specialist in office word 2010.
Jomiloju scored 769 out of 1,000 in the examination held in August.
In his examination score report, the
slim-built boy performed well in Sharing and Maintaining Documents,
Formatting Content, Applying Page Layout, and Reusable Content, among
other subjects.
By the feat, Jomiloju has joined the
league of young Microsoft certified professionals, including Nigeria’s
10-year-old Anjolaoluwa Seyi-Ojo; an eight-year-old Indian,
Lavishnashree, and two Pakistanis, named Arfa and Thobani.
Microsoft Certified Professional is a
certification programme provided by Microsoft Corporation. The
certification is tailored towards building skills on Microsoft business
solutions, focusing on client-end operating systems such as windows XP,
Vista, Windows7 among others.
Jomiloju, whose certificate was signed
by the Chief Executive Officer, Microsoft Corporation, Steven Ballmer,
says he did not achieve this feat easily, but through persistence and
hard work.

The teenage daughter of Czech president, Milos Zeman is currently involved in a sex scandal. Footage of her being at a 'porn party' cheering on gyrating naked men emerged in a local newspaper.
She was allegedly pictured (dressed in a white blouse and short black
skirt) with friends at the event on Prague.
The 19-year-old girl has denied the allegation that she was a part of
the sex party. She insisted that the pictures of her are fake.Speaking through a spokesman the president's daughter said: 'This was
not me. The photos are a hoax or some sort of fake.'
But the editor of Extra.cz which initially published the photos, Pawel
Nowotny, has now released the footage saying: 'This is viral on the
Czech internet.
